Summary

Merle Silverstein joined the firm as a partner in 1956 after finishing first in his class at Washington University Law School and serving as a Captain in the Judge Advocate of the United States Air Force, where he was in active duty in Korea in 1952 and 1953.

Merle practices in the firm’s litigation department in all areas of civil litigation, focusing primarily on domestic matters and contract disputes. In addition, over his fifty plus years of trial experience, he has handled almost all types of civil litigation in all levels of Federal and State courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Merle has been honored in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America” every year since 1993. In 2004, Merle received the Metropolitan Bar Association of St. Louis Distinguish Lawyer Award.
