Jennifer A. Merlo, an associate with the firm, has assisted clients in a wide variety of lending transactions and represented a variety of commercial entities in bankruptcy proceedings. Ms. Merlo has a focus on real estate lending transactions, but has experience in a variety of asset-based lending, including debtor in possession and exit financing lending transactions. Ms. Merlo has represented secured creditors, debtors and unsecured creditor committees in bankruptcy proceedings throughout the United States.
Ms. Merlo's practice is now focused on the acquisition, development and finance of affordable housing, historic buildings and other projects utilizing Federal and State Historic Tax Credits, Federal and State Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and State of Missouri Neighborhood Preservation Tax Credits.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Merlo clerked for the Honorable J. Craig Whitley, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of North Carolina. Ms. Merlo is a director of Art St. Louis, and is licensed to practice in Missouri and North Carolina.
